Take Care of your babies (Ideas) - Idea Series Part 2

In society there is a system in place which is used to ensure that people take care of their offspring. This system which was established functions via the courts of law- 'The maintennance court.'

When a person absconds their responsibility to take care of their offspring, the maintenance court will come after them. In the same way, you need to take care of your babies (ideas). 

This reminds me about the parable of the talents. The 3rd guy decided to bury the 'baby' he had been given instead of nurturing it like the others did with their 'babies.' The guy ended up losing what he had and it was given to someone else. When one is not responsible for their children the state can sanction for your children to be taken care by others. If you don't take care of your ideas, someone else will seize the opportunity to develop them. 

How many times have you seen, heard or read something someone has done and you thought...that's my idea!!! Well, if you don't take care of the ideas, someone else will. 

There is no use ending up crying when someone else is commercialising something you didn't take time to develop.

There is a Zimbabwean artist called 'Tocky Vibes' who has been hitting the airwaves recently. One of his songs has become somewhat of an anthem for me as it touches on a subject which is so close to my heart...it's dedicated to his mother. When you do not ask, the answer is already 'No'

John 16:24 “ Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask , and you will receive, that your joy may be full. ” Many times people go through life operating with a victim mentality. Thinking that everyone and everything is against them. Such a worldview makes a person think they are a victim of circumstances and that they do not have any control over what goes on in their life. Something I have come to realise is that often people don’t achieve what they need to, access what they need to, making the progress they need to, accomplish tasks quickly or get to know what they need to etc. just  because of not asking. This failure to ask can be premised on negative self-talk such as ‘No one would be willing to help me’ or ‘I don’t deserve to be helped.’ Apart from this negative self-talk, one other thing which tends to make people not ask is because of pride . Reclaiming our nationhood: Unity, Freedom, Work

For the past year or so I had been mulling over this motto on a touch-go basis. The recent developments within our nation precipitated by   ‪#‎ ThisFlag‬   led me to unpack further what I had been thinking over  ‪#‎ ReclaimingOurNationhood‬   This is a quest along the same lines as Ps Evan which saw the reclaiming of our nation's flag in order to make people aware that the Republic of Zimbabwe (the State) belongs to us its people. Chapter 1: Part 4 of our Constitution's Founding Provisions states "Zimbabwe has a National Flag, a National Anthem, a Coat of Arms and a Public seal,..." The current coat of arms of Zimbabwe was adopted on 21 September 1981, 1 year and 5 months after the national flag was adopted.
