IDEAS AS BLESSINGS- Idea Series Part 3

Many times we pray for God to bless us and He does, the only problem is our focus.

We think He will make money suddenly appear in our bank account or someone will drop a bag on our lap or some other 'rub the bottle and out pops a genie to pander to your every whim and fancy'.

He blesses us (blessing = empowerment to prosper) by giving ideas, connections, experiences etc with which we can establish sustainable ventures. The important thing is to wake up from our slumber and be aware of these when they come up in front of us.

God creates systems and these keep replicating themselves ie a tree has seeds which contains other trees which contain seeds...etc.

Ideas just like babies have the potential to reproduce. It's interesting that when a foetus is developing in its mother's womb it gets to develop the sperm (for boy) and ovum (for girl). By the time the baby (idea) is born there are many other potential babies inside.

When God gives you an idea you have more than what you need. Don’t take ideas for granted. The letters I'm writing now started as an idea, the screen you are looking at now started as an idea...YOU started as an idea :)

There is a Zimbabwean artist called 'Tocky Vibes' who has been hitting the airwaves recently. One of his songs has become somewhat of an anthem for me as it touches on a subject which is so close to my heart...it's dedicated to his mother. Basically in this song Tocky is narrating the promise he made to his mother that no matter how much success he will achieve in life he will never forget her (his roots). Reclaiming our nationhood: Unity, Freedom, Work

For the past year or so I had been mulling over this motto on a touch-go basis. The recent developments within our nation precipitated by   ‪#‎ ThisFlag‬   led me to unpack further what I had been thinking over  ‪#‎ ReclaimingOurNationhood‬   This is a quest along the same lines as Ps Evan which saw the reclaiming of our nation's flag in order to make people aware that the Republic of Zimbabwe (the State) belongs to us its people. Chapter 1: Part 4 of our Constitution's Founding Provisions states "Zimbabwe has a National Flag, a National Anthem, a Coat of Arms and a Public seal,..." The current coat of arms of Zimbabwe was adopted on 21 September 1981, 1 year and 5 months after the national flag was adopted. When you do not ask, the answer is already 'No'

John 16:24 “ Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask , and you will receive, that your joy may be full. ” Many times people go through life operating with a victim mentality. Thinking that everyone and everything is against them. Such a worldview makes a person think they are a victim of circumstances and that they do not have any control over what goes on in their life. Something I have come to realise is that often people don’t achieve what they need to, access what they need to, making the progress they need to, accomplish tasks quickly or get to know what they need to etc. just  because of not asking. This failure to ask can be premised on negative self-talk such as ‘No one would be willing to help me’ or ‘I don’t deserve to be helped.’ Apart from this negative self-talk, one other thing which tends to make people not ask is because of pride .
